Fun Games to Play during a Day at the Beach

Few things are more fun than a warm, sunny day at the beach during the summer. It is a great place to spend time with your family or your friends. But it doesn’t always consist of swimming in the ocean. There are many popular games that can be played on the beach. These include old favorites that you have seen countless times, as well as many that you have probable never heard of or wouldn’t think of as a game. So if you are looking for things to keep you busy at the beach, read on and find out about some of the most popular beach games.

Perhaps the most popular beach game is sand volleyball. You only need a net and a ball, and you can keep a dozen people entertained for hours on end. It’s such a popular sport that many beaches have poles installed so that people can bring their own nets and quickly string them up. If you have never played volleyball or you don’t have friends that are interested in it, that shouldn’t be a problem. At almost any active beach you can find numerous people enjoying all of the possible activities, and beach volleyball is certainly the most common.

Beach basketball, while sounding impossible, is another popular game to play on the beach. All it takes is a large circle drawn in the sand, and a hoop that the ball can be thrown through. The hoop stands in the middle of the circle, so that players can throw the ball in from any direction. Beach basketball is played as normal, except for that players cannot dribble the ball (not that it’s against the rules – it’s simply impossible.) Therefore they are stuck running or passing to teammates. It makes for an interesting twist on regular basketball, and if you can get used to it then it is a great beach game.

A day at the beach is almost always fun, whether you’re surfing or simply sitting around playing with sand. Playing a fun beach game will give you some great exercise, as well as pass the time with friends. So get the stuff you need to set up a beach game, and start finding out what the big deal is.

My Sibblings favorite things to do on the beach is to have my brother and sister bury me in sand. I love it when they cover me in sand and then I get the fun of breaking out of the sand.
